Southern Geoscience Consultants are assisting Athena Resources (ASX:AHN) with renewed modern geophysical exploration at their Byro Base Metal Project located SE of Gascoyne Junction, Western Australia.
SGC recently completed a detailed review of all historic exploration results and associated electromagnetic surveys including ground GeoFerret FLTEM, MLTEM, VTEM and DHTEM.
Results from the review have confirmed six base metal target areas with anomalous, moderate to strong, mid and late time EM responses. Recommended follow-up will involve the use of high powered (~100-200A) MLTEM surveying incorporating a low base frequency, HT SQUID B-field sensor and optimal slingram sensor offset to overcome any IP/SPM issues in the near surface and provide low noise surveying over all six target areas.
A suitable ground EM crew has been booked for late April 2021 to commence a systematic HP MLTEM survey.
SGC looks forward to working with Athena on the upcoming HP MLTEM programme efforts.
