Southern Geoscience Consultants would like to congratulate Legend Mining Limited (ASX: LEG) on a spectacular start to the 2020 field season with the discovery of extensive massive nickel-copper sulphides at Mawson (formerly Area D) in the Fraser Range. RKDD008 has intersected nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation over an interval of 41.5m, including 25.3m of massive sulphide and the remainder heavily disseminated to semi-massive style sulphide.RKDD008 was drilled to test priority DHTEM target conductors below the original RKDD007 discovery hole. Accurate DHTEM vectoring was made possible by utilising optimised Figure 8 pattern loops to suppress both conductive cover and stratigraphic conductor interference.The original Area D prospect was identified at a regional scale as a discrete 1.5km x 1km gravity high (4mGal) with an associated magnetic signature suggestive of a structural fold closure or intrusive feature.
SGC Consultant Geophysicist Russell Mortimer is managing the ongoing DHTEM efforts, regional MLTEM programme efforts and R&D components. Extensive additional exploration efforts are planned for the 2020 programme.
