Stewart Jackson
Project Geophysicist - Development
Stewart graduated in 2018 from the University of Tasmania with a BSc (Hons) in Geophysics, where he was awarded the W.D. Parkinson Prize for proficiency in Honours Geophysics.
He began his career as a Research Assistant specialising in computational seismology at IMS, working with a range of seismology techniques encompassing both active and passive methods. These included Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT), Multi-Channel Analysis of Seismic Waves (MASW), and Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR), covering all stages from survey planning through to delivery.
In 2022, Stewart joined Orica Digital Solutions as a Geophysicist, providing field support, data science solutions, and automation of data processing for their downhole geophysics services. His work delivered data from multiple downhole techniques, including Borehole Magnetic Resonance (BMR) and density logging.
Stewart commenced work with SGC in 2024 as a Geophysicist. With a strong background in programming, machine learning, and mathematics, he is highly motivated to apply his expertise to cutting-edge projects in geophysics. His comprehensive skill set enables him to tackle complex geophysical challenges effectively, making him a valuable asset to our team. Stewart was promoted to Project Geophysicist – Development in 2026.
