John Mitchell

Senior Geophysicist

John completed a BSc (Hons) in Exploration and Resource Geology at Cardiff University in 2005, and a Graduate Diploma in Geophysics at Curtin University of Technology in 2008.

From 2010 to 2012 John worked as a field technician and crew leader for geophysical contracting groups Atlas Geophysics and GAP Geophysics, performing gravity, magnetic, SAM and electromagnetic surveys throughout Australia.

In 2012, John joined IGO as a mine geophysicist based at the Long nickel operation in Kambalda. He was responsible for the planning, acquisition and processing of underground EM surveys and the interpretation and reporting of their results to assist with the long term exploration strategy of the mine.

With his extensive experience in data acquisition John joined SGC in 2017 as a Senior Geophysicist with a focus on the safe and efficient planning, management and interpretation of EM and SAM datasets.
