James Jensen
Senior Geophysicist
James Jensen graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2000 with a degree in Bachelor of Science (Geophysics). Upon his graduation, James worked as an Operator and Crew Leader for Tesla10 and from 2001 until 2006, he worked with Fugro Ground Geophysics. Whilst with Tesla10 and Fugro, James performed ground IP, gravity, magnetic and electromagnetic surveys throughout Western and South Australia.
In 2006, James started work in the Oil & Gas industry with PGS Marine Services (Isle of Man) Ltd, as an On-Board DP Geophysicist, Senior On-Board DP Geophysicist and Acting Chief and by 2015 was a Project Geophysicist with PGS Australia Pty Ltd. As a Senior On-Board Geophysicist and Acting Chief with PGS, James was part of a team based offshore worldwide who were acquiring data and processing the same. He also coordinated project progress with reporting on-site and on-board teams, monitored and ran production work with the data processing computer and software systems, problem solved associated processing and acquisition issues and provided technical support and knowledge transfer and training of assigned Geophysicists.
As a Project Geophysicist based in Perth, aside from his duties above, James also coordinated and managed project progress report to the client, lead client meetings and was involved in delegation, supervision and mentoring of the project team.
James joined SGC mid-2018 as a Project Geophysicist looking forward to develop and expand his knowledge in Mineral Geophysics.
James is also an active member of the ASEG and SEG.
