Senior Principal Geophysicist - Near Surface

Brodie is a Principal Geophysicist in the SGC near-surface team who is based in Brisbane. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in geophysics from the University of Auckland. Brodie joined SGC in 2023 after working for Golder Associates and subsequently WSP, following their acquisition of Golder, for 17 years. With Golder and WSP, he worked in the Auckland, Vancouver and Brisbane offices, gaining international experience in geophysical investigations for the engineering, infrastructure, mining, energy and environmental services industries.

Brodie has expertise in near-surface geophysical investigations using a wide range of geophysical methods. He has specialist skills in 2D and 3D electrical resistivity imaging (ERI), seismic refraction and MASW, and the integrated interpretation of geophysical, geological and geotechnical datasets.

Brodie’s responsibilities include developing proposals, project management, geophysical investigation design, field work and field work supervision, data QA/QC, data analysis, 2D and 3D visualisation, integrated interpretation, reporting, and business development.

Brodie is a member of ASEG and AIG.
