Southern Geoscience Consultants would like to congratulate Orion Minerals Ltd (ASX: ORN) with ongoing, systematic regional drilling success at their Areachap tenement holdings in the Northern Cape, South Africa.
Current deeper drill testing (OBPD001) was aimed to test the B4 EM anomaly which was refined via FLTEM follow-up of previously generated SkyTEM anomalies at Boksputs. Modelling of the data revealed a 300m x 1000m plate with a conductance of 400S. The plate fits the geology with the B4 conductor developed in the Kraalkop Synform, located stratigraphically below the historical Anglo American VMS intersections. OBPD001 has so far intersected numerous zones of copper-bearing sulphide mineralisation associated with chloritization and magnetite. Intensive follow-up drilling is planned, including to target a strong conductor (3000S) located 3km north of the current drill hole (B1/B2 EM anomalies).
A comprehensive exploration program including DHTEM, MLTEM and both shallow and deeper drilling is currently being planned.
