George graduated from Macquarie University in 2007 with a BSc in Geology and Geophysics. During the last semester of his degree George commenced work at Alpha Geoscience in Sydney.
During his 11 years ar Alpha Geoscience George gained significant experience in shallow ground-based geophysical methods, particularly including magnetics, FDEM, seismic refraction, GPR, capacitively and directly coupled resistivity and Borehole logging (including optical and acoustic televiewers).
George’s project experience has a focus on groundwater, contamination, geotechnical, unexploded ordnance (UXO), concrete scanning, utilities and grave location, coal and shallow minerals exploration. Clients he has undertaken projects for include Rio Tinto, BHP, Caltex, Lend Lease, MMG, SMEC as well as numerous state and federal government departments. His near surface and borehole logging experience has allowed SGC to broaden the scope of the data acquisition and processing, and value-add they are able to provide their clients in both exploration, safety and remediation contexts.
George’s near surface and remote location experience has also played a part in boosting the capabilities of SGC’s niche acquisition department and he regularly heads out in to the field to collect and QC data as part of the quickly growing department.
