We are proud to share that Southern Geoscience founder Bill Peters has been awarded the Geophysical Enterprise Award by the Southern African Geophysical Association (SAGA).
The award recognises initiative, ingenuity, achievement, and sustained entrepreneurship within the geophysical industry. It is fitting recognition of Bill’s contribution over more than four decades, from co-founding Southern Geoscience in 1985 and helping build its early technical capabilities, through to developing the company into the large geophysical group it is today.
Bill joined SAGA in 1977 while working with Anglo American in South Africa and has maintained his connection with the association throughout his career. His contribution to geophysics has extended well beyond Southern Geoscience, with a longstanding commitment to developing people, sharing technical knowledge, supporting geophysical education, and training internationally.
A special thank you to Klaus Brauch from terratec geophysical services GmbH & Co.KG, who accepted the award on Bill’s behalf. Congratulations Bill, and a well-deserved recognition of an extraordinary contribution to the geophysical profession.
