Continuing Our Commitment to Geophysics Excellence at CAGE2025

Southern Geoscience are thrilled to continue our support of #CAGE2025 – Camp for Applied Geophysics Excellence as Platinum In-Kind Sponsors.

CAGE is led by the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG). It offers an opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate, and early-career geoscientists to spend two days in the field collecting geophysical data, followed by several days in the classroom working through data processing, modelling, and interpretation.

This year, our Managing Director, Anne Tomlinson, kicked off the camp by sharing her career journey, while our Principal Interpretation Geoscientist, Teagan Blaikie, introduced participants to the applications of magnetics and gravity for Nickel exploration. Teagan then led the participants in the acquisition, processing and modelling of ground magnetic data using magnetometers supplied by SGC and GeoResults.

The field days even coincided with a magnetic storm, providing the attendees with a great opportunity to learn about some of the challenges of collecting magnetic data!

Congratulations to the organising committee, volunteers and all participants for making this year’s camp such a great success!
