Southern Geoscience Consultants wish Lycaon Resources Limited (ASX : LYN) every success with their upcoming high powered (HP) MLTEM and deep drill testing of a modelled gravity target with high density contrast defined within the Bow River intrusion, East Kimberley WA.
A HP SQUID MLTEM survey covering approximately 8.4km² of the prospective Bow River intrusion is scheduled to commence by mid-September with Wireline Services Group (WSG). MLTEM surveying will assist in identifying drill targets beneath the depth of historical exploration across the full intrusive corridor.
Historical Falcon gravity data was reprocessed and 3D inversion performed. Subsequent model results have identified a large, deep seated gravity anomaly with a density contrast of ~0.5-1g/cc. Which is believed to potentially support the presence of prospective host rock (peridotite / ultramafic rock types) at depth well below historical drilling/exploration. Drilling is being planned to target centre of highest modelled density contrast between ~600 – 800m depth, to investigate the potential for the presence of a significant NiCuS mineralised system within the Bow River intrusion. The drillhole will also provide a platform to complete HP DHTEM surveying to detect deep seated strong conductors.
SGC Consultant Geophysicist Russell Mortimer is managing the upcoming HP MLTEM/DHTEM geophysical targeting efforts.
